The transformer has a secondary winding coupled to a diode bridge rectifier circuit (2) and this delivers dc voltage to a load (7) via two circuit branches (3,4). One voltage branch (3) delivers a voltage of 9v relative to the 0v on the other branch (4). Within the one branch (3) is a linear regulator (6) that is associated with a bridging capacitor (8) and a load connecting switch (13). A further connection (9) is via a diode (10) and load switch (12) and this provides a higher than normal voltage that acts as a pull in voltage for operation of a relay. This is followed by the lower holding voltage.
