PURPOSE:To enhance developed color density, color forming sensitivity and image reliability, in a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler is provided on a support, by using a specific fluorane compound and a specifice vinyl ether compound as the leuco dye. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer based on a leuco dye and a coupler is provided on a support. As the leuco dye, not only a fluorane compound represented by formula I (wherein R1-R4 are respectively H, a 1-6c alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a tetrahydrofurfuryl group or a halogen atom) but also a vinyl ether compound represented by formula II (wherein Ar is a benzene ring or a naphthalene ring) are used. As the compound represented by the formula I, 3-(N-cyclohexyl-N-methylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane and 3-(N-isoamyl- N-ethylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane are used and, as the compound represented by the formula II, 1,4-bis (2-vinyl oxyethoxy) benzene and 1,3-bis (2-vinyl oxyethoxy) benzene are used. |
