PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic plug assembly that does not have leakage after removing a needle, by installing an elastic plug that is compressed and arranged in a rigid plug retainer as the surface of the elastic plug borders inside the rigid plug retainer. SOLUTION: A plug assembly 10 is inserted in an entrance 24 of a catheter hub 16 after the attachment of plug 12 by compressing in the radial direction to make the external diameter of a elastic plug 12 to the size to the internal diameter of the rigid plug retainer 14. And, the plug assembly 10 is used for ordinary method by inserting the needle in an abridge-axis direction go through the plug 12 to be connected with patients. Consequently, when the needle is removed, the elastic plug 12 which is compressed in the radial direction returns a non-compress state elastically to fill a space which has been occupied by the needle, and the elastic plug 12 is removed without exerting bad influence on a seal performance of the plug 12. |
