发明名称 FREE WHEEL CLUTCH
摘要 PURPOSE: To simplify and miniaturize the structure of a free wheel clutch while improving the strength by transmitting or shutting off power between an axle shaft and idler wheel through the engagement/disengagement of engaging parts along with the sliding of a constant velocity universal joint. CONSTITUTION: In two-wheel drive, a constant velocity universal joint 20 is pressed to the car body side by an elastic force of a spring 10 interposed between spring carriers 6, 7, and a spline 26a of an engaging part 26 is disengaged from a spline 26b. An axle hub 2 is diengaged from a shaft part 24 of the constant velocity universal joint 20 so that power transmission is shut off between an axle shaft 21 and idler wheel. On the other hand, in four-wheel drive the constant velocity universal joint 20 is slid axially to the idler wheel side by the tension of a wire 11 against the elastic force of the spring 10 to cause the spline 26a of the engaging part 26 to engage the spline 26b. The axle hub 2 is connected to the shaft part 24 of the constant velocity universal joint 20 so that power is transmitted between the axle shaft 21 and idler wheel.
