Vehicle hand brakes performance checking method

The attachment consisting of sleeve (9) and handle (12) is placed over the vehicle hand brake (2). The handle includes device (10) for operating the brake release (11) and the sleeve (9) has a strain gauge (4) inside it which detects the pressure exerted on the brake. The travel of the brake and the pressure on the brake linings is measured by an acoustic sensor counting the clicks on the brake ratchet or by optical or piezoelectric devices. Brake pressure and corresponding travel are shown on a display unit (5).
