Charges accumulated on the outer skin of transparent plastic are removed by a number of conductive elements arranged perpendicular to its plane in regularly spaced holes leading through an inner flexible plastic sheet to a collector which overlies the surface of another rigid sheet and is earthed at one end. The inner flexible sheet is mfd. first and may incorporate a network of resistance wires for heating purposes, each conductive element of the electrostatic protection passing between two such wires. <IMAGE>
