Fixture for securing containers to rail or road cargo transport vehicles

The fixture projects above the bed of the cargo transport vehicle and engages a recess in the lower surface of the container. The fixture has a securing section that automatically holds and prevents any lifting of the container when the container is subjected to combined lateral and vertical wind or pressure forces. Pref. the container is released from the fixture by lifting the container vertically with its lower surface parallel to the cargo vehicle bed. Pref. the securing section has a laterally projecting nose (20) with inclined sliding surfaces (26) that engage a side of the container recess.
