PURPOSE: To provide a thread wound golf ball which has a solid center and is excellent in spinning performance and durability. CONSTITUTION: The thread wound golf ball has such a structure that threads of rubber are wound on a solid center 1 and a cover 3 is put on it, and the cover 3 is formed into a multi-layer structure consisting of an outer layer 4 and an inner layer 5 having a higher hardness than the outer layer 4, and the thickness of the outer layer 4 should be 0.4mm or more.
