PURPOSE: To effectively reduce low-frequency field radiated froth the front of a cathode-ray tube display. CONSTITUTION: A reverse field generation means 2 for cancelling leakage field is provided in the vicinity of the front of CRT 1, and voltage (D' and V') having the same phase and opposite polarity as leakage field (deflected component D and high-voltage ripple component V) radiated along a front direction from the CRT 1 is applied to the means 2 for cancelling the leakage field. In this case, an AC voltage component for generating the leakage field in the front direction can be obtained from an anode potential zone, as the component is induced in the zone including a shadow mask 15.
