PURPOSE: To provide a focusing method for an imaging device and a non-contact measuring device utilizing the method by which focusing detection using the contrast method can be made in high accuracy and at high speed. CONSTITUTION: A non-contact outline measuring device 1 processes an image picked up by an image-pickup system 2 through an image processing part 5 while a driving motor 4 is vertically driven along a work 3, and the outer dimensions of the work 3 is calculated by a computer 6 based on the processed result. A line sensor 14 is placed in a manner that an optical distance between the work 3 and CCD camera 13 is the same as that between the work 3 and sensor 14, and since a sampling interval of time of the sensor 14 is shorter than that of the camera 13, the contrast can be obtained from the image data of the sensor 14, therefore the interval of time for obtaining the contrast can be shortened and the measuring accuracy is also improved. |
