PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inspect profile fault and wall fault at the same time by directing a pair of light beams to a container to be measured at two inspection points on a conveyor respectively in such a way that they cross each other at a right angle thereon almost horizontally and picking up an image by two-dimensional camera on the reverse side of the light source. SOLUTION: An upright glass container 11 (bottle) to be measured moving on a conveyor at a constant speed is irradiated at two inspection points respectively with a pair of diffused lights emitted from a pair of light sources 12 in such a way that they cross each other at a right angle thereon. Then a light flux passing through the periphery of a profile including both sides and apexes of the container 11 is led to a two-dimensional camera 24 (camera sensor) through a mirror pair formed of two mirrors, direction conversion mirror and reflection mirror 22, and it is formed as a halved picture respectively. The picture signal on a pixel array is sent to an image processing computer 28 so as to perform dimensional measurement and side wall analysis at the same time, thereby detecting the profile failures (bending, diametric change, deformation, etc.) and wall failures (mixture of bubble or foreign matter, etc.) at the same time. |
