摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent data destruction at a recording time by always setting optimum reproducing laser power even when an ambient temp. in an optical disk device is changed, and to prevent level lowering and reproduction impossible of a regenerative signal at a reproducing time. CONSTITUTION: A magneto-optical recording medium having a recording layer and a reproducing layer on a substrate is used. The data are recorded on the recording layer of the magneto-optical recording medium at a recording density smaller than a beam diameter of a laser beam in recording. The data recorded on the recording layer of the magneto-optical recording medium at the recording density smaller than the beam diameter are reproduced by setting the reproducing laser power to a suitable value in reproducing. A reproducing power correction part 74 decides the optimum value of the reproducing laser power used in a reproducing part by performing the reproducing operation of the magneto-optical recording medium. For instance, the reproducing power correction part 74 measures the change of the regenerated signal while increasing the reproducing laser power by making the prescribed minimum reproducing laser power W0 as initial value, and makes the value adding a prescribed value Wc to the reproducing laser power W, when no regenerated signal is changed, the optimum reproducing laser power.
