摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To locate a vibration source accurately and inexpensively in a short time by measuring a rotational speed, converting the rotational speed into information indicative of the rotational acceleration and displacement, and then comparing these data with predetermined threshold values. SOLUTION: A magnetic detector 12 detects the data related to the speed and operational period of a transmission 14 in the form of a pulse train and delivery the detected data to an electronic controller 22 through a signal regulator 16. The controller 22 processes the data and presents the processed data on a display 24. More specifically, the controller 22 generates a speed data for every rotational order of crankshaft from a data detected by the detector 12 and calculates displacement and acceleration. The speed chart of a power transmission path is then determined as a function of time and the charts of acceleration and displacement are determined in relation to the rotational order and presented on the display 24. Subsequently, the controller 22 compares a data obtained for every rotational order of drive shaft with a predetermined threshold value. A decision is made that an undue torsional vibration has occurred when the threshold value is exceeded and that vibration is displayed by a flickering or colored image.
