Assessing hair condition from sample of hair, carried out esp. after perm treatment

The hair condition assessment is determined by subjecting a sample of the hair to an excitation energy supply and the intensity of radiation emitted by the hair is measured. Pref. the excitation is by electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range 100-750 nm and is effective for a predetermined illumination period. Measurement of the intensity pref. takes place after a delay period after irradiation has ceased. A light-tight measuring chamber (1) is used to accommodate the sample. The irradiation source is pref. a flashlamp (20), and a detector (9) is provided for measuring the intensity.
