Test bench for simulation of steering of endless tracked vehicle

The vehicle (1) is set up in a defined position with its nearside and offside drives coupled to rotary shafts (2,3) with mechanical brakes (4,5). Rotational speeds of the main power train are increased and torques reduced by mechanical gearing (6,7). Dynamic loads on a moving vehicle are simulated with the aid of overload clutches (8,9) and flywheels (10,11). The gearing drives eg. asynchronous generators (14,15) with hydraulic power brakes (12,13), and is coupled (16,17) by planetary gears (19,20) to a lockable differential gear (18) driving a null shaft (23) with a controllable brake (25) in accordance with the inequality between the rotational speeds of the two sides.
