Dielectric ceramic

A dielectric ceramic containing an oxide is obtained by firing a material comprising Mg and at least one of the elements Si and Ti. The dielectric ceramic can have a graded functional structure such that the dielectric constant of the dielectric ceramic is different in different parts thereof. In the dielectric ceramic, the dielectric constant epsilon of the dielectric ceramic varies by location in the range 6 to 20.
