PURPOSE: To obtain glass fiber woven fabric not causing reduction in strength even in use in a high-temperature gas, having excellent heat resistance, by highly silicifying the surface layer of glass fiber in a specific state. CONSTITUTION: This glass fiber woven fabric comprises a high-silica zone having a higher SiO2 content than that of the core part of glass fiber, in 0.06-0.55μm thickness region from the surface of glass fiber and the surface layer part having >=80wt.% SiO2 content in the zone, in 0.05-0.33μm thickness from the surface of the glass fiber. The glass fiber has preferably <=0.6μm average diameter. The glass fiber woven fabric is preferably twill fabric or stain fabric. The glass fiber woven fabric has excellent wear resistance when the filament diameter is especially <=6μm and sufficiently stands uses under mechanically severe conditions. It has a low heating shrinkage factor because the conditions of acid treatment are adjusted and the thickness of the high-silica layer part is suppressed to about 0.06-0.55μm.
