<p>The mfr. of raw cement from waste prods., contg. an inorganic component, uses a redn. smelting process to volatilise Zn and maintain the amt. of FeO in the slag at 0.5-10 % at temps. above the m. pt. of the slag. CaO, Al2O3 and SiO2 are the main components with a max. of 25 % other oxides and sulphides. The compsn. is adjusted by mixing with other minerals. The slag is shock cooled to form an amorphous glassy mass, which is fine milled and mixed with activator and/or (burnt) gypsum. Also claimed is a prod. mfd. as described above where the compsn., normalised to 100 %, lies within the field PQRST. Also claimed is a prod. mfd. as described above, but with controlled cooling to produce a crystalline slag.</p> |
