<p>A tubular stent is provided with a braided structure having a body portion and an end portion (816), where the end portion has a higher pitch angle than the body portion, thereby forming a locking ring. If desired, a second locking ring (814) can be provided at the second end portion of the stent. The locking rings may each include a barb (818) used to anchor the graft within the blood vessel.
