METHOD FOR COPRODUCING DIFLUOROMETHANE AND 1,1,1,2-TETRAFLUOROETHANE

A method for simultaneously producing difluoromethane (F32) and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (F134a) in gas phase in the absence of any catalyst or metal surface by pyrolysing chlorodifluoromethane (F22) at a temperature above 500 DEG C in the presence of hydrogen. Depending on the operating conditions, the method also enables a major proportion of either F32 or F134a to be achieved.
