<p>PURPOSE:To avoid a lost-target state and secure continuity and smoothness of inter-vehicle control by furnishing a means for correcting a receiving signal in a multi-pass region and a means for inhibiting adjustment of a safe inner- vehicle distance. CONSTITUTION:An FM pulse from a microcomputer(MCPU) 10a is modulated 10d to be radiated to a target from a radar sensor 11, and a reflected wave thereof is received by the sensor 11 to detect a beat signal so as to be transmitted to a signal processing part 10b via a filter 10c. A target signal is taken out through a fast Fourier transform and the like by the processing part 10b while an inter-vehicle distance R and a relative speed VS with respect to a target vehicle is computed by the MCPU 10a. When a radar car is judged to be immediately before entering a multi-pass region by the MCPU 10a, a multi- pass flag is turned on and an inter-vehicle distance R1 as well as a relative speed VS1 at that time is held for K1 time so as to smoothen inter-vehicle control. In the case where an inter-vehicle distance adjustment inhibiting means is furnished, a safe inter-vehicle distance is adjusted to be rather large so as to avoid a lost-target state.</p> |
