PURPOSE: To obtain a developing device capable of sufficiently regulating magnetic toner and applying a charge thereto by making a magnetic flux density in a regulating part high, without reducing the diameter of a developer regulator, stably coating it with a thin layer of only sufficiently electrified magnetic toner and carrying it to a developing region. CONSTITUTION: In the developing device 8 provided with a developing sleeve (developer carrier) 1a which carries a developer including the magnetic toner incorporating a magnetic material on the surface and is rotatably arranged, a permanent magnet 1b disposed in the developing sleeve 1a and the developer regulator 6 regulating the coating with the developer on the sleeve 1a, the developer regulator 6 is composed of a magnetic member and oppositely arranged to be rotatable in the same direction as the rotational direction of the sleeve 1a, in the vicinity of at least one magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 1b and the permanent magnet 7 is arranged in the vicinity of the developer regulator 6, so that the density of a magnetic flux formed in the vicinity of the developer regulator 6 is made higher in the directions of the developer regulator 6 and the rotation of the sleeve 1a. |
