PURPOSE: To provide laser beams having a high output and a stable single-peak transverse mode by heating and bonding and directly adjoining a solid-state laser material containing an oscillation element and the same base material as the base material of the solid-state laser material. CONSTITUTION: A YAG crystal as a solid-state laser medium is formed of an Nd:YAG crystal 1 as a solid-state laser material and an undoped YAG crystal 2 of the same base material as the Nd:YAG crystal 1. The YAG crystal 1 and the undoped YAG crystal 2 are extended to the left and the right so that both crystal directions of the crystals 1, 2 coincide and fast stuck respectively, and heated and bonded at 1000 deg.C under the state. The coating of the low reflectivity of 0.5% or less is conducted after the bonding. A fiber output type semiconductor laser 8 is used for excitation to the YAG crystal, and an excitation laser output through an optical fiber 8a is converged to the YAG crystal by using two flat convex lenses 7 and through a concave mirror 5, thus exciting the YAG crystal. A transverse mode is controlled by a pinhole 11. |
