Torch made of combustible material, e.g. wood

The torch consists of a piece of wood (1) from a short log, with a recess for the insertion of an ignition body composed of a highly flammable substance. The recess (8) in the piece of wood is formed by at least two sat cuts (5) at an angle to each other. The cuts cross each other within the circumference of the piece of wood. They run in the direction of its longitudinal axis. They start from one endface (2) of the piece of wood and finish before reaching the other endface (3). The torch may be made of material other than wood, eg. pressed recycled paper.
