PURPOSE: To prevent the contamination of water with a fine particle in the method for colliding a fine particle melted in plasma with an underwater structure by providing a mechanism for collecting the fine particle suspended in water. CONSTITUTION: A high-pressure water tank 7 is filled with water 8, a thermal spray gun 9 is dipped in the water, and the surface of a sample 10 consisting of stainless steel is coated (11). A thermal spraying powder supplied from the feed line 13 provided outside the tank 7 is not entrained by a plasma jet stream, and the unmelted powder 15 uncontributive to coating is generated. The unmelted powder is passed through a suction mechanism 16, recovered in primary and secondary filters 17 and 18 by a recovery mechanism 14 and then purifies water in a recycle system 19. When this method is used in repairing a structure in a nuclear reactor, the cobalt concn. is lowered. |
