PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new composition containing betulinic acid at a specific concentration and effective for highly stimulating the collagen synthesis. SOLUTION: This composition contains >=6 μM, preferably 6 μM to 50 mM of betulinic acid expressed by the formula and extractable from plants. The composition further contains 0.01-15 wt.% of ascorbic acid and is properly compounded further with a fat-decomposing agent, a vasodilator, an antisuntan agent, a surfactant, an emollient, a thickener, a preservative, powder, a colorant, an opacifying agent, a perfume, etc. The topical application of the composition containing betulinic acid to the skin cures the dermatic symptom such as wrinkle, sagging, cellulitis and light damage and forms a springy, smooth and soft skin. It can be prepared in the form of cream, lotion and gel. Betulinic acid can be produced by extracting Centella asiatica with an organic solvent. |
