PURPOSE: To provide a quantifying method for cholesterol requiring no pre- treatment such as centrifugation, capable of efficiently quantifying the cholesterol in a protein having high specific gravity via a simple action, capable of being applied to various automatic analyzers, and useful in the field of a clinical inspection. CONSTITUTION: A material forming a lipoprotein other than a high-specific gravity lipoprotein and a complex and a surface active agent are added to a specimen containing the lipoprotein, and cholesterol is measured by the emzymatic measuring method in this quantifying method for cholesterol in the high-specific gravity lipoprotein.
