The navigation appts. includes a card information storage device (1) to store digitised card data which includes at least street data and crossing data. A path adjustment device (2) includes the drive path along which the body continuously moves between two points in the digitised card data. An instantaneous position detector (3) detects the position of the vehicle in the card data. A removable voice information storage device (4) stores several voice communication pattern codes corresponding to several communication concepts. These are conveyed to the driver as information. The storage device stores several speech wave data corresponding to the several pattern codes. A control device (7) determines at least one voice information point along the determined path based on the detected instantaneous position and the card data. It also reads out a pattern code from the storage device according to a determined concept and reads out a command to read out wave form data corresponding to the pattern code. A voice communication information device (8) reads out the stored waveform data, depending on the command from the control device, and a digital-to-analogue conversion is carried out and information is provided as speech.
