A composition of matter for preventing ascites and stress in highly selected animals is disclosed. The composition, in one aspect, includes components for reducing intracellular levels of free radicals and for maintaining the integrity of the cell membrane. In a second aspect, the invention provides a composition of matter which includes the above-described components together with components for increasing the intracellular levels of ATP. A method for treating highly selected animals with these compositions is also disclosed. |
