Swimming pool circulation pump intake

The intake (1) for a swimming pool water circulation pump is installed in the swimming pool wall with slightly more than half its height immersed in the water. The intake has an elliptical shape with its major axis parallel to the water surface. The inlet is composed of two semi circular sections (5) connected by straight sections (6) parallel to the water surface. The covering cap (4) of the intake peripheral edge has the same shape as that of the intake.
