PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent fluorescent whitening degree of a paper background by using a fluoran phthalide or the like represented by specific formula as a color developer, and blending specific wt.% of a mixture of a water insoluble organic polymer and a water soluble fluorescent whitener and a coating blend for heat-sensitive paper made of an activator. SOLUTION: As a color developer, a fluoran of formula I and/or a phthalide of formula II and/or a compound of formula III and/or fluoran of formula IV are used, a mixture of a highly dispersed solid water insoluble organic polymer and a water soluble fluorescent whitener of 0.01 to 10 wt.% in terms of a weight reference of a water insoluble polymer, a co-reactant and an activator are blended to prepare the coating blend for a heat-sensitive recording system, wherein R1 is a hydrogen, 1-4C alkyl, R2 , R3 are a hydrogen, 1-4C alkyl or the like, R4 is a hydrogen, hydroxyl, 1-4C alkyl, amino or the like, R5 is a nitro, a halogen, 1-4C alkyl or the like, R5 is a halogen, a nitro, 1-4C alkyl or the like, and R12 is 1-8C alkyl or -CH=0. |
