FIELD: analysis of materials. SUBSTANCE: stepwise varying alternating-polarity voltage with cyclic frequency measurement period is applied to sample being analyzed, polarized current is integrated, and polarized charge values are recorded at equally spaced time moments. In calculating actual part of complex dielectric constant at least four readings taken within half-cycle are chosen and in calculating imaginary part, at least 32 readings. Components of complex dielectric constant are calculated by adding readings multiplied by trigonometric functions of phase angle (sine or cosine for actual or imaginary part, respectively).
