The bushing which is fitted onto the wall (4) of an enclosure has a ceramic envelope (1) surrounding a metal conductor (11). The part (7) of the bushing inside the enclosure consists of two tubular parts (7A,7B) of unequal exterior diameters ( phi i, phi s). The upper part (7A) having the largest exterior diameter. The two parts are connected by a circular rib (15). The upper part (7A) is metallised and the metallisation extends to within several centimetres of the top of the rib (15). The rib (15) is connected to the lower part (7B) by a circular chamfer (7C) forming part of a cone (20) where the angle ( alpha ) between the sides of the cone (20) and the top of the rib (15) is about 30 degrees. The ratio between the largest ( phi i) and smallest ( phi s) diameters is between 0.5 to 0.9. |
