The razor assembly comprises a handle and a base structure (27) on which the blade cartridge is mounted. Side walls (60) of the cartridge have slots (58) which accept the base portions of blades (18). The blades are supported on resilient arms (62). A guard (20) is mounted at the front of the housing comprising a finned elastomeric unit which engages with and stretches the users skin. A gap (22) is mounted in a slot (66) at the rear of the housing providing a lubricous shaving aid. The blades are retained within the housing by clips (68) which also wrap around the housing and prevent the removal of the pivoted ends of arms (28).
