Fixing element for switch cabinet sidewall

The fixing element secures the sidewall (20) to a switch cabinet frame assembled from frame profiles (10) having a rectangular hollow profile with projecting stop edges (11) on 2 sides. A distance piece (30) fits behind one of the L-shaped stop edges and receives a fixing screw for the sidewall. The distance piece is fitted with a retaining plate (34) supporting metal clips (40) with projecting spring tongues (42) fitting through slits in the end (12) of the stop edge, to electrically connect the cabinet frame and the sidewall.
