<p>This system consists of a programmable pacemaker (2), of a programmable evaluating circuit (4), of an adjustable synchronising part (5) for synchronising the stimulation pulses at time tst, a programming unit (3), and of a programmable signal processing circuit (1) which is connected via the evaluating circuit (4) constructed, in particular, as a decoder, and the synchronising part (5) constructed, in particular, as a divider, to the outputs of the pacemaker (2). In this arrangement, stimulation pulses are generated for at least two electrodes (E1 to En), which can be implanted in the skeletal muscle LDM, with a stimulation intensity which is corrected in accordance with a magnitude representative of the current body loading or the cardiovascular demand.
