PURPOSE: To obtain an FM multiplex broadcast receiver provided with a voice synthesizer capable of changing the speaking speed of a voice-synthesized output in accordance with information, always securing the delimitation of information and outputting easily understandable contents. CONSTITUTION: A voice synthesizing processing part 14 transmits a flag A indicating the output of a voice to a CPU 8 during a period from the start of speaking up to its end, and when a character information output request for a succeeding picture is outputted during the '1' of the voice output flag, a speed control signal is leveled up by one step (accelerated), a data unit is transmitted, and then the voice output flag is turned to '0'. When no information output request is generated even after the lapse of a fixed period, the speed control signal is leveled down by one step (delayed) and the data unit is transmitted. The speed control signal can be varied in accordance with the categories (general information, traffic information, emergency information, etc.) of character information. |
