<p>PURPOSE: To prevent worsening of steering feeling without return control and convergent control of a steering wheel by providing a clutch control means which lets in the clutch when detected torque value is smaller than a first value and larger than a second value and releasing the clutch when detected torque value is smaller than the second value. CONSTITUTION: Torque value detected by a torque sensor 1 is processed in a microcomputer 7 via an amplification circuit 8 and an A/D conversion section 71. When compensation detection torque value T is smaller than a predetermined value T2 in a dead zone where current does not flow in an electric motor 12, the microcomputer 7 sends a control signal which turns off the clutch to a clutch drive circuit 13, thereby turning off the clutch 14. On the contrary, when the compensation detection torque value T is larger than the predetermined value T2, it sends a control signal which turns on the clutch to the clutch drive circuit 13, thereby turning on the clutch 14. As a result, steering feeling is not worsened because the clutch is shut off in the dead zone of detection torque value.</p> |
