Mixture formation optimisation device for Otto engine

The device contains a variable venturi (1), which is able to vary the airflow profile in the area of the injection nozzle (2). Due to this, the airflow speed for after-atomisation of the injection jet (4) is at optimum level in all load areas. The venturi has a square shape, and can be constricted in the area of the injection nozzle, by two movable air guides (3) at the sides. This increases the airflow speed around the injection jet, and forms space for a long jet. Load regulation is via a throttle flap or via throttle-free load control using variable inlet valve control.
