<p>PURPOSE: To lower the voltages, speed up the operation, and reduce the power consumption including an oscillation circuit by providing the oscillation circuit and a load circuit which are powered with the voltage boosted by a boosting circuit and a start-up circuit which is connected to the output of the boosting circuit. CONSTITUTION: When a reset signal is generated first when the power source is turned ON, a control signal (a) is supplied from the start-up circuit 5 through a signal line in response to the reset signal. The start-up circuit 5 once receiving the control signal (a) holds the output (b) of the boosting circuit 2 at the potential of a ground terminal 6, i.e., the ground potential. Consequently, the oscillation circuit 1 performs oscillating operation at an external source voltage level. Then the boosting circuit 2 receives a clock signal from the oscillation circuit 1 through a load circuit 3 and operates. The boosting circuit 2 outputs a voltage (b) which is higher than the source voltage. The output voltage (b) of the boosting circuit 2 is unstable when the power source is turned ON, but becomes stable a certain time later. At the time when the output becomes stable, the output of the control signal (a) from the load circuit 3 is cased and the operation of the start-up circuit 5 is stopped.</p> |
