PURPOSE: To obtain a radiation-sensitive resin composition suitable for use in forming a protective film having a section effective in preventing wiring breakage on an optical device. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises a copolymer (A) obtained from (a1) an unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or an unsaturated carboxylic anhydride, (a2) an epoxidized unsaturated compound, (a3) a monoolefin compound other than the ingredients (a1) and (a2), and (a4) 1-15wt.% conjugated diene compound; a polymerizable ethylenic compound and a radiation-sensitive polymerization initiator (B).
