PURPOSE: To prevent leakage or drip of ink by providing a superposed part of an ink passage wall in a longitudinal direction in a writing instrument having a valve member for switching an ink passage by elastically deforming upon receiving of a sliding force by a pressing member between an ink tank and a nib member. CONSTITUTION: A nib 5 is mounted in the central hole 3c of a nib holder 3 slidably in a shaft longitudinal direction, and the inner end of the nib 5 is brought into contact with a valve member 6 made of synthetic resin having elasticity. The member 6 has a fixed leg 6a and a flat platelike deforming part 6b formed with a cutout ink passage 6c. When a pressing force such as a writing pressure is given to the nib 5, the part 6b of the member 6 is pressed via the nib 5, and the passage 6c is opened by the elastic deformation of the part 6b. The member 6 has a superposed part in the longitudinal direction over the entire passage 6c to suppress the opening of the passage 6c. |
