PURPOSE: To efficiently and easily manufacture a cover member in a short process at a low cost by forming the cover member with a key top section molded with a silicone rubber composition, a thin section, and a base section as the illumination type push button cover member. CONSTITUTION: This illumination type push button switch cover member 1 is provided with a shading colored layer 2 having a transmittant colored layer border 10 compression-molded with a shading colored silicone rubber composition and a colored layer 3 transferred and heat-molded with the transmittant colored liquid silicone rubber composition. A transmittant colored layer 3' of another color is prepared in advance, and a substrate 7 constituted of a key top section 4, a thin section 5, and a base section 6 is vacuum compression-molded from transparent or translucent liquid silicone rubber. A conducting contact section 9 may be provided as required. The transmittant colored layer border 10 is used to distinguish the transmittant colored layer 3 and the transmittant colored layer 3' having different color tones to that the color tones are not mixed on the top face of the key top section of the push button switch cover member. |
