PURPOSE: To provide a sewing device for improving the responsiveness of a driving means, preventing the loss of synchronism, improving reliability and abolishing the limitation of the moving amount of a supporting body by performing signal transmission between the supporting body and a machine frame by a non-contact system without using electrical wires. CONSTITUTION: Infrared rays LEDs 106-108 are fixed to an erected wall surface near the axial center of theθtable of a post M3 and photodiodes 109A-109D, 110A-110D and 111A-111D are fixed to the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical body 4 of theθtable. Motor-for-X-axis driving pulses outputted from a CPU 101 are modulated in a modulator 103 for X axis data and inputted to the infrared ray LED 106 and optical signals are outputted. The optical signals reach one of the photodiodes 109A-109D and electric signals are outputted from the photodiodes 109A-109D. The electric signals are synchronized in a synchronizing device 112 for the X axis data, restored in a demodulator 115 for the X axis data, are turned to a motor driving current in a motor-for-X-axis driver 119 and drive a motor 13 for an X axis.
