PURPOSE: To decide the DTE address of a subscriber independently of an accommodated exchange. CONSTITUTION: Each packet exchange is provided with a subscriber management table 23 being a cross reference table between DTE addresses and their allocated exchange numbers and a registration section 25 storing a DTE address and an exchange number of an exchange accommodating it to the subscriber management table when a subscriber is registered in a packet exchange, a multiple address communication section 21 applying multiple address communication of a registration content to another packet exchange, a reception section 20 receiving a revision notice signal from another station, a correction section 24 updating and correcting the subscriber management table 23 based on the received update information and a retrieval section 22 retrieving the accommodated exchange by using a DTE address of a called subscriber terminal equipment as a key in the case of transmission.
