The multi-strand low voltage power cable has a protective outer sleeve (2), current-carrying wires (3) of identical sector shape surrounded by insulation (8) and single optic fibres in the interstices (4,5) between the wires, both the radial outer ones and the central one. The remaining space between the wires is filled (11). Instead of single optic fibres, a bundle of fibres could be used. There are four wires which are twisted together, with their sector angle being 90 degrees.
