The upper roller (2) bears under its weight on the bottom roller, even without pressure on the roller ends, and the bottom metering device (30) for roller (1) includes a metering roller (32) which rotates opposite to the bottom roller and contacts the ascending surface-normal of roller. This metering roller extends lengthways in a bottom trough (34) allotted to the bottom applicator roller and the trough lies open to the roller casing surface itself forming one boundary of the fluid space. The metering device (39) for the upper roller bears under magnet force on the descending casing surface with descending surface-normal of the upper roller and includes a counter-rotating metering roller (36). This roller engages a surmounted trough (37) to apply to metering roller and roller interface a film of fluid led over the crest in of the metering roller concerned.
