Novel hydantoin derivatives having excellent herbicidal activities, a process for producing the same and herbicides comprising the same as active ingredients. The hydantoin derivatives represented by general formula (1) are produced by reacting an aryl isocyanate derivative represented by general formula (2), with a dehydropipecolinic acid derivative represented by general formula (3).
