Drive belt tension adjustment system for automobile automatic transmission

The tension adjustment system uses signals provided by the engine control unit for estimating the torque delivered by the ic. engine (11), to allow precise corresponding adjustment of the tension of the contact part (1) of the drive belt. Pref. the engine torque is estimated from the quantity of air drawn into the engine, or a derivative of the mass flow signal and/or the ignition angle of the engine, or the quantity of fuel fed to the engine and/or the fuel injection timing.
