The braking mechanism is provided between a base end and a front end in the first arm, and brakes the second arm. In addition, the robot further comprises a second actuator which rotates the second arm, and the second actuator, the second arm, and the braking mechanism are sequentially disposed in this order in a widthwise direction that is perpendicular to the extension direction of the first arm.
